Accordingly to the latest release from the UK Government, BNO holders and their close relatives will be eligible to apply for the Hong Kong BNO Visa outside or within the UK, starting from January 2021.

What documents are needed for BNO Renewal / Application?
Applicants will be required to fill in an online application form, together with other documents that are listed below.
- Photo: At least 2 identical photos taken within the last 30 days
- Your most recent BNO passport – photocopies will not be accepted. If you have lost it, please visit here.
- A colour photocopy of both sides of your Hong Kong permanent identity card
- Full colour photocopy of any passports from other countries that haven’t expired (every page including blank pages)
- One of the following documents from the last 12 months that shows your name and address and /or residency:
- Employment Letter
- Medical card
- Letter issued from your local authorities
- Visa or residence permit in colour
- School report
- Immigration documents
Other specifications in regard to BNO Application / Renewal
Only original documents will be accepted by the UK office, unless you are required to submit a photocopy.
If you are submitting any supporting documents issued by any other countries, make sure they are in English and certified by a registered translation body.
You will be required to fill in your full name, date of birth, and other personal details, as well as your existing BNO passport number.
Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, it is taking longer than usual to process applications. For some cases, it is taking more than 3 months to complete the whole process.
